I just installed a set of Brembo slotted rotors, and a set of EBC RED ceramic pads for my SRT. I followed the break in instructions , to make sure the rotors and pad compound dress the rotors properly. It seems to brake better and it sure looks better behind those 20's, but I get this squeal that sounds like Im shredding dolphins when coming to a stop at slow speeds.
It squeal disappears after the brakes get warmed up.
Does anyone have a recomendation on how to eliminate the squeal?

Was this completed under warranty? There are other threads talking about some brake problems. I'm expected to get some work done over the next week so I'm hoping I don't trade off one set of problems for another???:thk:
Man, that's a tough one. My stock brakes squeal a bit at times.
I used to place a small bead of silicone on the back side of the pads, between the pad and the steel plate(shim) on my Starion to eliminate the squeal. Don't know if that would apply to these as I haven't taken them apart yet.
Am I the only one who hasn't had the rotor grooving problem? I mean the fronts are slightly grooved. But no more than I have seen on any other vehicle I have owned. . .

Mine look like the ol' vinyl records. And they squeal under light braking conditions as well. I once had a mechanic tell me that some high performance brakes may have a higher metalic content than others - due to heat dissipation etc ... and may squeal. I'm no mechanic - so he could have been lying to me and I wouldn't even know ...

I actually could not get my dealer to own up and replace the rotors. Believe me that was a round and a half, not sure if I will use that dealer again. I did this on my own nickel.
I am not sure what manufacture the dealer will use, I ordered mine off the Brembo website.
I will give the silicon a shot and see if that helps. Thanks Pe0n for the info.

At 6k I don't have the grooving problem, however I will be keeping on eye on it as I put more miles on.
