For those of you who are on the fence about the Hotchkis Sways..I attached a pic of the stock sways vs the Hotchkis. Also....i just took Ghost for a ride in my car and took a 90 degree turn at 30mph easily.

Those are sick! I can't wait to put them on! That is such a huge difference from stock. I can not even imagine the improvement over a stock R/T set of sways.

Well worth the investment. HHP offers a very good price on them. I had Ghost talking about them even after he left the car and got inside the house.

I might not let FLP do it this time.

What is your fantasy with midgits???? thank goodness im taller then you...juan, ghost....look out.:xxx:
The fronts are a piece of cake...the backs get complicated. The install took 3 hours for everything...the exhaust has to come off for the back. i know your good with tweezers but i would leave this to the professionals.

Does the exhaust have to come completely off or just dropped? My zoomers are fully welded on! DOH! I would love to do this mod. Corners at speed are so fun!

Seems the Hotchkis rear are 200+ percent stiffer than the stock. Could cause some stearing problems, but if the front are used as well; should be a great combo. I would not recommend just the rear but I am definitely happy with this find.:O

Hotchkis Data:
Hotchkis bars are hollow and the bushings are greasable.
HP Front Bar - 1 3/8" (35mm)
Stock = 30mm Solid
HP Rear Bar - 3/4" (19mm)
Stock = 15mm Solid
% Stiff over Stock
Front Bar + 30%
Rear Bar + 150%

Prices at High Horse Performance, BMC Performance, and ProMotion Tuning all show about $375.00, but I am sure this is negotiable at HHP. Do your homework one place may be cheaper but you have to pay for shipping the other place may offer free shipping. Remember to negotiate price AND shipping charges.
This is a low price for such an adder that will show way more of a driving improvement than a CAI will do as a HP increase.

Did you know the Eibach and ST Suspensions sways also exist?

Eibach:
The Eibach sways don't appear to add much, but they say the bars are stiffer just not by how much. They are solid bars.
Front: 30mm
Rear: 16mm

ST Suspensions:
The STS sways are larger than Hotchkis and are solid.
Front: 7/8"
Rear: 1 1/4"

I can testify that the police sway bars are awesome...I drive my RT to work than drive the police RT all day...life is great. Big difference in handling even with my RT having the Road and Track package.

I feel like a dummy...I didnt even think of just adding the police ones to my ride.

And $225 sounds like a steal!

I wonder if I can use my $50 Mopar gift certificate on those??? Guess I will PM Adam to find out.

Its about the weight Silver.....the Hotchkis are hollow and cut your weight...the others are solid and may actaully add more weight....im not sure.....i havent heard much of the others...i can only speak for the hotchkis.

Hey MidLyfCrysis, have you had a chance to drive an SRT8 compared to the police rt.
I was wondering if the suspension on the SRT8 is different than your rt package and if so , how much of a difference the police sway bars will have on my SRT8.:4-dontknow: I can have you drive my car to see what you think. :Racing:I am sure we are not that far away from each other.

Actually, one of my friends I work with has the SRT8...I'll ask his opinion. He's a motor head like us so I'll be able to get a worth while opinion from him (even though his other car is an SS Camaro LOL).

I'm down in Windsor so we are about 4hrs from each other...A meet at the St Thomas Dragway near London Ont doesnt sound bad though!

Let me know when u might be down...I gave ur info to our fleet manager in regards to the mounting brackets but havent heard anymore back from him. There are about 6 more Chargers waiting to go into service.

We have a new trunk shelf mount for the Police Charger... it works very very well. We are showing it at the Police Security Show in Altlantic City later this month. I will let you know when I will be in Windsor and I will have pictures of the trunk mount.

The specs on the Police Sway bars are the same dimensions as the SRT, Unless they are made of a different material, there may be no difference. It could be putting SRT sways on a R/T - hey that means if I get the Hotchkis then I can sell mine to some one ...

JoeCU08

The stock rear sway bar on a SRT8 is 15MM, The Police rear sway bar is 18MM, of which I installed on my SRT8 back in March. After auto cross racing at the California Speedway in Fontana, Ca. I call say that the Police car sway bar is a huge improvement.

What we need here is someone that has the police car sway and then goes to the Hotchkis for comparison.
I will gladly do a comparison and review for $100 per person (min 20 people)....lol. Group buy arrangements available.

I think the lack of a police car front sway would hold me back. I think a better, bigger front sway will be a BIG improvement help over just a better rear bar.

My own opinion, if you have the SRT8, go with the Hotchkis front and rear. If you don't have the SRT8 and budget is a concern, find a set of used SRT8 bars and use them. (Front & Back)

What kind of coin to you have to dish out for the mod? I am thinking that's now on my to do list.... Is the ride noticable changed or just tight?
