I have thought about taking the 3.5 badge off and just leave people clueless on what model it is.
At the same time its funny when people pull up and say "wow thats a 3.5"? Sounds like a hemi!
Either way its a sleeper because people dont expect much at all from ANY V6 unless its an import car.
What do you guys think? :4-dontknow:

Adam, I took off all the badges and logos except the hood ram (to be replaced w/ BT later). It looks so sweet and clean. Plus, nobody knows what it is. I have people ask me daily what my car is, then comment on how sweet it looks!!!

I like the idea of having the car completely badgeless so people don't even know what it is and it makes the whole car look cleaner and gives it more of a custom look.

I'm really not trying to be mean. But do you have a sound clip? i'm not doubting it could sound like a V8 but the Hemis have always sounded different to me.
I had a V6 Dakota and enough work doen that the aftermarket exhaust sounded like a V8. But that was Magnum V6 to Magnum V8 they were basically the same family.
I'd leave the badges on. For 2 reasons. people will see the 3.5 at a light and write you off. Then when you stomp them they can be pissed. But, if you do take them off. mail them to me I'll put them on Jens car.

You know and for me it's the opposite. Mine does not have the 3.5 but i was wandering if i should have them on. That and i changed the high output color to red. It looks great without it on but on the other hand it kinda looks nude.

I have been on a journey to find nice sound from my 3.5. Never thought I would, so I gave up. Everything I hear is obviously a v6 an has too much of a tuner sound. I would love to know what you have done to get yours to sound close to a hemi and even more would love a sound clip. I have a 71 Olds Cutlass with a 350 4bbl, stock manifolds with dual flowmaster 40's, and it is very throaty! Sounds good. I know the 3.5 would never be that deep, but to get close would be wonderful.
Badging...I am a fan of leaving it on....of course, with the right sound, it would be gone in a flash!!! Make 'em wonder! :D

Go for debadging - I wasn't sure if I would like it either, but the sleekness of it is great!

I have a True dual exhaust with x-pipe and Flowmaster Super 44's, and all the time I get "That Hemi sounds BadAss" (or someting to that effect) and I smile as big as I can and say "Phuck a Hemi its a 3.5" (Sorry Hemi guys)
Ill get a sound clip up as soon aws possible....
P.S. I took off my 3.5 emblems and will soon be sticking them BACK ON....

I voted for debadging. I know for mine, I took off everything except the Hemi badges on the side and the dodge emblems on the front and back. Here in Germany it is awesome because Germans, first look at the car, then look at the rims, and then go around back to find out what kind of car it is. Its halarious, best part is they dont know that I speak German fluently and I can hear them saying to each other I dont know what kind of car it is...lol.

I do have to say, he does have a sound clip and it sounds darn good. It was a nice deep tone, better then I expected. Im sure to a HEMI owner, you could easily hear the difference but its not too far off. I think someone might think he's got more if he isn't around a bunch of HEMIs like we are:D
Edit : http://www.chargerforumz.com/showthread.php?t=59389 here is the video clip
I think the time the tone really changes and you can tell its not a HEMI is after 2500 RPMS ....the V6s start to get higher pitched IMO

Yea they do get higher pitched so I know what your saying.
My old man was in town when I got them put on and the one thing that we could agree on was that it was a nice and tight sound coming from the exhaust at WOT. Some of them really sputter or pop at higher RPMs but mine is nice and tight.
Then at the lower RPMs its got a nice rumble to it, just recently this guy had a 3.5 bone stock and heard me coming so he pulls up next to me and asks where I got the exhaust done and how much it cost me.
With all of the other V6 cars I have heard so far the 3.5 charger probably sounds the best. Maybe 1 or 2 V6 mustangs are a little throaty but they dont have that nice tight consistant sound that I get at WOT.
As far as the badges go, I am proud of my 3.5 badge because everyone thinks less of it and that I probably couldnt beat an accord if I tried.
At the same time this other guy I talked to he had the SXT, I could tell because of the rims and I asked him why he debaged everything and his reason was because he wanted everyone to think it was a 2.7L lol
Worst comes to worse I guess I could just put them back on.......or maybe just design my on custom badge as well. A badge that states its a 3.5 without having it so noticeable until you really look at it when its parked or at a light.

I vote for debadging, I like the clean look and makes people wonder what ya got, it's a good conversation starter too.

I semi-debadged mine. I like the clean look on the doors and sides of the car, so I took the HEMI badges off the sides and removed the door moldings. I also took the Ram Head off the trunk, but left the Charger and the R/T on the trunk. I want to keep the R/T on it, and take the Charger letters off, but I think it looks unbalanced if you do that. It's impossible to clean between those darn letters!

I voted on DEBADGING and DEMOULDING as well, I my self removed the side door mouldings plus the debadged the trunk leaving the SRT8 badge and the HEMI side badges and the car looks HOT. I catch a lot of people looking at my rear trying to figure out what kind of car it is, people trying to catch up tp me on the highway just to get a peek then I just blow them away LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You see a Mustang, Vette, BMW, Mercedez, and you know which model it is blah blah!!!!!! but with our Chargers we leave them guessing.....

Do it take the letters off, you will not regret it. Just give your self some time, do it slow and have lot's of goo gone. I took the Ram head off as well and I love the way it looks, plus if you see the 08' Chargers they don't come with door mouldings it just looks nice and clean....

Yea mine is an 08 so I dont have the door moldings I think they look bad and throw off the rest of the car.
Good advice, for the side badges on the fender they are just taped on there too right?

Yeah they are all put on there with some heavy duty 3M tape, I'll tell you the CHARGER lettering was a pain in the a$$ taking off cause you have to take each one seperatly and it had a lot of glue residue plus it was hot as hell that day. But once finished it was worth it...........

Take it all off, thats my vote!!! I took mine off, THEN made the MOPAR "M", with the word MOPAR under it, SO it doesn't look that naked, and people are ALWAYS mistaking me for an R/T!! I got the dual 4"tips and it DOES have a NICE tone as well, leave em hanging as to wonder what ya got!!! Thats my vote IMO
Here's what it looks like..... a couple different views.......

I say take them off, I did as well. I replaced my hood emblem with a B.T. one, and I took everything else off besides the CHARGER on the trunk. It just makes it look cleaner.
Hell, if I had a HEMI I'd do the same thing, I like the idea of a sleeper.
