Now as you may know, I've been doing some in-depth research about what simple mods I may be able to do that will improve the performance in any way form or fashion. I did order the normal things (i.e. CAI, cat-backs, and such) but one of the things I did order was a TBS, which was later shown to me (thanx ANTMAG06), that it really would not do much for us being that our engines are ported... (Atomization and such)... I checked out the design of the engine and he was right… So I started to look more... and this is what I found.
The only way that something could increase performance with our engines is if it (cold air) were forced down the intake... now short of making major changes (Turbo, Supercharger) which I'm not ready to do at this time, I found something that I would like the family (this forum) to look at and give me your opinion on.
Electric Superchargers... it forces the air down the throat at full acceleration and doesn't hinder the air flow when idle... PLEASE check out this web site and give me your thoughts on the product. http://www.electricsupercharger.com/index.shtml (http://www.electricsupercharger.com/index.shtml)
I need to know if this would be worth the money spent... unlike the TBS I just bought...
Thanks people.

Looks pretty cool.
The T.B.S. is a waste. I have it, and unless you want to "HEAR" the air being sucked in, I could not justify it being there! Absolutely NO difference. It sounds exactly like a loose fan belt, no joking! If I didn't pay so much for it, I would have taken it out by now. I read posts about it having no effect, but had already ordered it, like you did. Hope this helps.

The problem with any electric supercharger is that to be positively effective (actually create boosted air pressure at full throttle) for a 5.7L engine, it would need at least a 20 hp motor (as per a super charger). Perhaps something like the motors driving the blow dryers at the car wash. At about 746 watts per hp, that's 14920 watts for 20 hp. 14290w/12v = 1243 amps. You may need a trailer to haul the power plant to run it.

What does TBS stand for??

Hey Thunderhand,
A TBS is a Throttle Body Spacer. Like a dope I bought one before I read the posts here. Evidentally, it's supposed to cause the air flowing into the engine to vortex causing better atomization of the fuel air mixture before it enters the combustion chamber. With our cars and the way they are designed we are already achieving that so it's a waste of money. I was going to try to send it back but already had it on the car so....
Did I explain it well enough fellas?????

OK so I take it it's a bad idea... well back to the drawing board...
