I have a two part curiosity. Perhaps I am unable to google the right words, but;

1. Is the front differential an open diff as well, or is it a LSD when engaged?

2. HOW does the seamless AWD function work? I cannot wrap my head around simply pushing a button and engaging the front differential as well! I've owned a quality 1.5 limited slip, but I can't figure out how it's strength and durability is equal to a diff that is designed to be always engaged??

It is a newbie kind of question, but if anyone can answer it I would GREATLY appreciate it! hope everyone's having a great Memorial Day!

As far as I can find they are both open diffs. The seamless awd function is largely due to the clutch packs and electronic actuators. I've been interested in the diffs myself as I'd like to have a getrag but I've only found one swap that's been done and they had to use spacers on the wheels to make up for our offset....seems like a lot of hassle for no reason. Just throw enough power at it that it will light up all 4 and call it a day lol.
