Welcome to the forum from Western NY. To clear the error, you need an OBD scanner that can handle more than just the Pxxx codes that cheaper ones can handle. You can go with a handheld scanner or a Bluetooth OBD scanner and software that runs on your phone. The handheld scanner is likely going to be the more expensive option.

I use AlfaOBD software along with a Bafx OBD scanner (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005NLQAHS/). The advantage of the AlfaOBD software is that, in addition to being able to diagnose/reset many types of error codes, it also allows you to enable functions that your car didn't come with. For example, in my car, using AlfaOBD, I enabled Performance Pages and added the ability to roll down my front windows via the key fob.

One thing to consider is that even if you clear the error, it may return if there is actually a problem.

thanks you the reply. I’ve seen a few people speak on this so order a Bluetooth scanner but there’s no tutorial on how to use it to change my shifter. Would the message go away if I purchase a police package speedometer?
Unfortunately, I have no idea regarding a solution to your problem. In your original message, you were asking how to clear the error code, hence my response. There are a number of people here who have Pursuit models, perhaps some have run into the problem and found a solution. One thing I would be concerned about is the difference between the 2011 & 2015 vehicles. The 2015 models were quite different with regards to the electronics compared to the older models. It's possible that the 2015 cluster isn't compatible with a 2011 vehicle, due to the differences in the electronics.
Also thinking the transmission internals/sensors might be different (TCM for example)
Isn't the 11 a 5 speed and the 15 an 8 speed?

5 speed
I know the 11 (and my 13) are 5 speed.
I thought 15s were 8 speed.
true...i seen someone comment that a 2017 pursuit will work better because the cluster can recognize the shifter settings
Need to reset the shifter type to the Pursuit Shifter style. Which is ERS4ESW ( 4 pos electronic range select with enable Switch)

I purchased a 2017 pursuit cluster and switch the setting with the taser to 5 speed…the transmission message is gone but my gears not showing anymore

Far as I know they will not. Specially on a 2011 atleast like mine.

Honestly if it drives fine I am unsure why one would need to see the gears. I can always tell what my car is in.
