I have two questions. Excuse me if this is a fairly long post. Upgraded to the SRT in April so I'm not that familiar with it yet.

First, My AC tends to randomly blow really hard from time to time and I can't figure out why. Does anyone know if that is a normal thing?

Second, and most important, I recently took my first long road trip this past week. About an hour or so in to the trip, I noticed that I was starting to get pretty warm inside the car. Long story short, after running a while, the air blowing out of the vents slowly fades to almost nothing. It is still cold, but it barely blows. I can hear the air blowing hard from time to time (see above) but can't tell where it is coming out. If I cut the AC off for a while and turn it back on it will return to normal only to fade away again later.

I'm hoping I can get some info on this from you guys because I don't want to pay someone to try to figure it out. Also as this is my primary transportation, I can't just leave it somewhere while they try to "replicate the problem".

Thanks guys.

It may be the humidity sensor? It’s located on the windshield next to the rear view mirror. I had a similar intermittent situation and my max air and recirculation finally stopped working completely. There was no check engine light but, when checked, it had thrown a code. I replaced it myself and the high speed fan and recirculation works normal now.

Thanks. I'll check that out. Since you mentioned the Max A/C and Recirculation, I remember that it automatically cuts on the recirculation when I turn on the Max A/C. Wasn't sure if that was normal either. Seems like it shouldn't be.

Anyway. What is weird about it is that it sounds the same even though the air is not coming out of the vents. I can still hear the air blowing like I usually would. I thought at first that maybe it was a faulty valve or something that was redirecting the air to the wrong place, but I can't seem to tell where it is coming out.

Hi MoparNewbie,
I understand that you are trying to avoid going to the dealer to have this inspected but we just wanted to reach out and let you know that we are available to help by connecting you with a Case Specialist who will work with your dealer to help find a potential solution to this. The best way to reach us is via private message.
