    Ladies and Gents:

    Sorry for the very basic question, however, I'd like to upgrade my 2016 RT stock exhaust and need some guidance from the Forum Members. Factors in selecting the exhaust include the following:

    1. I'd like to stay under $1K in cost if possible;
    2. I want it to sound throatier and tight, yet, no highway drone (I have a long communte each day and it would drive me nuts); and
    3. We live in the Houston area (north of downtown), any guidance on a solid Muffler Shop would be much appreciated.

    Many thnaks for your consideration. Enjoy your weekends.

    Welcome from Austin. Most people will tell you to do a mid muffler delete (under $100) and see how you like it. I have the Mopar branded Corsa Sport catback and absolutely love it, but that's going to run you over $1k. It adds a mean growl w/out being overly loud and absolutely no drone.

    If you plan on upgrading your intake and/or PCM later, I'd say to just do the mid muffler delete and save up and get the scat pack stage 1 performance package later. Well worth it, imo.

    Thanks fellow Texan. What's the spec. number for the Corsa Sport kit that you have?

    For the whole stage 1 kit it's: 77072337 (this kit includes the catback, mopar cold air intake, performance PCM, Mopar low restriction oil filter, and the S1 badges)

    For just the catback alone it's: P5160039

    Definitely start with the mid-muffler delete, cheapest and most effective improvement you can make before spending $$$$.

    ^ This. I did it and love it. Just leave the rear resonators on to reduce or eliminate drone! Video of my R/T below if you need to hear it. Play on a good stereo or a good set of headphones. Cost me $100.

    I was a bonehead and did the resonator delete before I even knew about the mid muffler delete. It was ok but the drone was horrendous. I ended up purchasing the FlowMaster American Thunder catback for a little under 700. So far, I really like them there is a slight drone when MDS kicks in but nothing unbearable. Plus, the savage nature at WOT is enough to overlook any drone I may hear. Good Luck and happy modding.
