Has anybody installed an aftermarket hood on their Mopar 11? Thinking of getting a fiberglass hood for mine and curious how any scoops or openings look with the stripe re-applied. Any OEM scoop options out there that will fit?

That's a hard one. I've never seen anyone put one yet on a Mopar 11. I did a basic photoshop (no rock throwin!) a while back to try and decide if I wanted to pursue this with the Trufiber hood below. The other photo is one someone did on the previous generation SRT8 showing how it would look going along/over the scoop instead. This would be with the VIS style hood if I recall correctly. I was envisioning cutting the stripe around the scoop and putting Charger or Hemi emblems on the sides. The last photo was someone's SRT8 done with an aftermarket offset stripe kit, and looks really good too.

I love our stripes but they are a curse when it comes to doing aftermarket hoods. Plus Mopar 11 stripes are expensive to order from Dodge, and the only way to get the exact matching color. There is one vendor that sells it as sheets for a lot cheaper, but you would have to do a lot of cutting to get the pattern down. I imagine having to do a paper mock up once your hood is on and then transfer to the sheet to trace the pattern outline if you're going to try and go partially over the hood. With the SRT8 hood I think the factory stripe kit can be made to work. In the end I decided to stick with the factory hood. I thought about a carbon fiber version of our standard factory hood style, but that would mean needing to buy another stripe kit again!

Thanks! I actually don't mind the look of the stripe running up the side of the scoop bulge in the second picture. I thought it would look odd, but not bad really. I like the idea in your photo shop kinda cutting it around the bulge but would need something to offset the cut area. So not being a Dodge guy for long, is the third picture the only SRT hood on our gen Chargers?

That's the only OEM hood that was on 2012-2014 SRT8's. It fits the 2011 Chargers too. Aftermarket has a lot of other styles that fit 2011-14, including a Hellcat style hood, but that just doesn't look right to me on a 2011-14.

I've seen quite of few after market hoods out there. I like a couple fiberglass hoods from Trufiber but the stripe issue might make them look odd. I like the the A58 but the inside edge of the driver side scoop looks like it will interfere / interrupt the stripe. Could just notch around it, but then the stripe is on a different angle then the hood body lines. Love the Mopar 11 but adding exterior upgrades can be tough.

I really like that mopar with the shaker hood, is that just a hood scoop or an aftermarket hood?

The shacker hood is awesome, but I do like the SRT hood too. Can't go wrong with either.

All of those hoods look good for different reasons.

Regarding the Mopar 11 stripes, I know the aftermarket kits don't match the original color, but aside from buying the stripes from the dealer is there any other source for those?

I've never found one. We have a graphic department at work and I have access to all of the vinyl vendor's catalogs. I've even ordered a couple of larger samples, but nothing is exactly right.

I am torn between the Trufiber A23 and the A58 fiberglass hood. Will be some time before I do it. So I have plenty of time to think about it.
