Aftermarket Sunroof...Yes or No?

6063 Views 12 Replies 12 Participants Last post by  Bradpmp
Since I bought my Daytona, the one issue I had was the lack of a sunroof. I have started to contemplate getting this done, been pricing it...seems like 900-1000 bucks is about the price around here. Should I do it, looking for opinions from other Charger owners.
Thanks in advance.

Not a bad deal if that price includes installation and they warranty their work in the case of leaks and such. It's no easy job to cut into the roof, do it right, make it look good and not leak. I say go for it but don't go with the lowest bit, that's my advice. You usually get what you pay for.
I rarely hear of good aftermarket sunroofs.
Most aftermarket sunroofs have leak issues, but I'm sure if you find someone that knows what they're doing it'll be fine. Just might want to find somebody reputable to install it.

Yep. I don't recall hearing much good about them, either... If it was my car, I wouldn't do it.
I love having sunroofs, but I'm a big believer in, if its not from factory, get one with your next ride. Your cars 8/9 years old, I wouldn't risk it, unless your going to keep it for many more years, ofcourse a bad install could also put that idea out the window.
I say no go on these.... The Stock roof is designed without the Sunroof no extra brace for sunroof. If the car from Factory as a Sunroof.. these have extra braces to keep it in place and not allow the roof to warp or Bow from the weight and stress from driving.

Find a Wreaked one.... Cut a good foot around the sunroof and just leave is mounted in it. Remove any extra braces there is for it and take all that for the your insta

at the very least. Hit up a Savage yard for a charger with Sunroof. Pulll there Headliner down and see whar braces are there
I'd pass, spend your money elsewhere...
I agree with everyone here. I do not trust aftermarket sunroofs.
I vote no, a botched install could ruin the car.
Oh don't do! Please I beg of you not to do it! Too many horror stories from aftermarket sunroofs. Plus the leaks that start to occur, usually within a year. Put the money towards a new hood or something. It will be better spent on something else.
An aftermarket sunroof was always the slow kiss of death for a car. way more horror stories than success. Even early factory sunroofs had numerous problems.

Aftermarket with drain lines is prob fine but if you want it done right, cut out the roof of another charger that has a sunroof and have it fitted onto your car. There’s a speciality place in Houston that does this called Pink Thangz.
