I have to repaint the hood and bumper on my daughter's 2012 SE.
Anyone ever use a Wagner MotoCoat to paint a car?

Yeah the prep work is the key to a great finish. The hood and bumper came pre-primed and just need to wipe and tack. Not sure if I am going to spray another coat of primer or not. Maybe should to get some practice. Primer is so much easier to sand.Sanding is the important part. YouTube is full of how to videos and the type of sandpaper to use up to the smallest grit. As long as you spray even small amounts, just enough to cover the part, doing this in increments so you do not overspray it should come out good. Not sure how pearl paint is. Two different bases or just one. I would like said, check YouTube. That is where I started. I am pleased with the work but my car is black and that is most likely the easiest to paint and it looking like it blends in.
New OEM replacement aluminum hood cost me $500 shipped, a junkyard pull would have been $800.Ouch! Did some damage. If you got the pre-primed parts from a reputable supplier, you may not need to sand. Just practice painting on a junked part. When I purchased the SRT hood for my Daytona it came pre-primed. I took it to the body shop and had them paint it. They did not do any sanding and it came out great. $300 for the hood but that was 5 or 5 years ago.
