AWD vs RWD

Welcome to the forum. Certainly AWD is better in rain & snow than RWD. However, RWD is very usable in snow if you have good winter tires. My Rallye is RWD and living in Western NY (between Buffalo & Rochester), we get plenty of snow. I have had no problems driving in snow with 4 Bridgestone Blizzak WS80 winter tires mounted. I bought some cheap cast wheels and have the winter tires permanently mounted. I just swap wheels/tires every Spring & Fall. A side benefit of swapping wheels/tires is that my factory wheels continue to look good because I'm not exposing them to the salt that gets spread on the winter roads.

Welcome from Colo, and I couldn't have said it any better than Mr. Collette did! I live in Colo, and have AWD, and coupled w/Blizzaks in the winter...there is NO storm that I couldn't face...unless one in which all cars are buried under 20 ft of snow lol!
