There's no question that synthetic is better than conventional oil. The question is do you need synthetic oil. I would say that a lot of it depends on how you drive. If you do a lot of city driving and/or drive it hard, I would recommend synthetic. If you do mostly highway driving and drive sanely, conventional oil should do. What I use on my car (mostly highway and relatively easy driving) is a blend (mix of conventional & synthetic). It's not as good as full synthetic, but is much cheaper.

Cool.

I've always figured that if my dog learned how to speak, his first word would be, "Steak."

My Charger doesn't have a name or anything, but applying the same logic, if it could speak, I'm pretty sure it would say, "Synthetic".

Welcome from Pittsburgh! Your owner's manual likely calls for either full synthetic or at least a synthetic blend. At the very least, don't use anything of lower quality than your manual suggests. Your car will make you pay the price if you do. Enjoy your new ride!
