I have a 2009 dodge charger 5.7 and the PRNDL lights on the cluster don’t light up, and the gas gauge reads incorrectly - code P0462 - if I replace the cluster does it need to be programmed so that it shows the correct mileage?

When the cluster is replaced in a 2013 the replacement cluster needs to be programmed with the correct mileage. I assume this is true with a 2009 but I don't know for sure.

The dealership uses their wiTech diagnostic system and collision centers, etc... repair shops either use wiTech or other compatible system. I don't know if the AlfaOBD software has the capability to update the cluster mileage. The mileage information is stored in multiple modules and can be transferred to new modules with the proper software/diagnostics.

Would I have any other problems besides having the incorrect mileage if I replaced it with a different cluster?

I have not replaced the cluster in a 2009 so I'm not sure. Maybe one of the other forum members knows the answer.
