I have a 2015 SXT and I want Android Auto. Is there an aftermarket stereo head unit that I can install without losing a bunch of the uConnect functionality?

Thanks in advance.

These are two solutions I researched for adding CarPlay & Auto, but don’t have experience with either:

Swap in select aftermarket stereos and keep varying degrees of Uconnect functions.

Swap in Uconnect hardware from newer model cars.

Hi There,
I have been a member for a while probably second post on this site. I have actually replaced everything except the factory head unit.

The main problem from what I have been told is the space. There isn't enough room for a traditional head unit. We don't have the depth.

This may work

There is a very slim alpine but I don't know if it has the maestro hookup.

You will need the idatalink maestro. I had a shop in Canada try and install the 9 inch alpine but there is a metal bar that is in the way so we don't have the depth to install an aftermarket radio. Or it would end up going in on an angle which would look strange.

This pioneer can have the screen separate from the rest of the stereo so it may work. You can have the screen where our current radio is and you can have the rest of the deck up to about 5 feet away if you purchase the longer cable. Again I haven't tested this so I don't know if it will work.

I am thinking about doing this because the factory head unit is starting to act up changing stations all on its own.

Take care,
Bob
