Need to get your air filter down into the bumper, I built my cold air intake out of 3" exhaust tubing, then used the K&N 63 series tube for the rest of the way, this provided me with the best airflow numbers using a very large AFE cone filter with inverted end for more surface area of the filter, you want as large as filter as possible. putting the filter down into the fender/ bumper area help pick up 60ft times.
Ran a little test through an OBD reader after looking at Mr. Pentastar's youtube video, promptly landed a 14.5, but again on the street as opposed to the track
I used a corrected density altitude calculator and if at sea level my car would run anywhere from mid to upper 14s at the track.
I've heard from some guys around here that a 93 tune will cut power top end, so they run 91. Can anyone verify or deny this?
I ran the 93 octane can tune on 91 octane straight gas and did very well, I even tried 87 octane in much cooler weather saw little gains in 0-60 mph but it had to be cool outside, so I just stuck with 91 octane. I ran 13's at over 100 mph on 91 octane fuel.
Here's some launches in my car the day I ran 12.80 with a 1.78 60ft time.
