You could but like keeylyme already said, that would be considered upbadging.

Sorry I meant from a legal stand point because one of buddies got pulled over (speeding) he has an R/T but he upbadged to the SRT* emblem and cop said on your insurance and registration it the vehicle listed as a R/T and really gave him a hard time. The cop let him go but is upbadging illegal?

It's not illegal at all, but frowned upon by majority of muscle car enthusiasts.

Its not illegal at all. I doubt the insurance company cares there is a SRT badge on an RT. If they run the VIN it will still show a RT.

The cop was probably a Mopar guy, thats why he gave him a hard time...lol

That's the most logical answer haha. Upbadging is a no no but I fail to see how the cop would give him trouble about that... The info is in the vin anyways.,,,
