You still a fan of the mid-muffler delete? Giving it some thought. I like the sound of the Flowmaster Force II, but $100 is a much more attractive price than $800. It seems like the delete added a lot of the bass I've been missing in the stock exhaust sound. Does it maintain that bass when you're accelerating?

After reading yet another thread asking "what kind of exhaust setup should I get?" (and on a side note, I'm amazed at the patience of the members here, so many forums would be giving the new guys a hard time for not reading old posts), I think it might be a good idea to start a sticky with sound/vid clips and setups as a reference page. Something listing year, model, engine, exhaust setup, then either a sound file or video. That way, people can come here toget all the info they needed to help them decide on what they wanted for their car.

I've actually got several setups to share.

I have a 2010 Charger R/T and am looking for an exhaust upgrade. Figuring it's been mentioned here before, I did some browsing. (self props)

With that said, I saw a post from user SRT8U. He strongly suggested looking at Zoomers,
"by far our most popular exhaust for the charger/challenger. Great old school sound, high quality and American made."

So I did. They are currently at the top of my list for an exhaust upgrade. So thanks to SRT8U :4-wavey:

I love this thread but I do not understand at all why some of the folks with the V-6 engines spend thousands of dollars modifying them instead of just buying at R/T??

Agree... I traded in my SXT for an RT. Haven't looked back since.

Here's my story: I had a 2000 Sunfire with crank windows that Hubby felt was a deathtrap. He had me go into the dealership to look at a 200. I didn't know what I wanted so the salesman showed me a Toxic Orange Charger and it was love at first sight. It was a huge improvement on what I had been driving. Such luxury! I didn't learn about the different levels (or hemi envy) until I got on here. If circumstances had been different then I would still be driving my beautiful V6 Toxic Orange with Borlas (and drone). But life throws those curve balls, and I managed to leg is out to first with an '06 Daytona

Current Setup: My 2013 Dodge Charger SXT Blacktop came with the factory true dual exhaust. I replaced the center factory cylindrical mufflers with a pair of Dynomax VT mufflers. I also deleted the rear resonators and replaced them with 12" CherryBomb Glasspacks. There are Flowmaster dual 3" tips on each side.

First Setup: I previously did a resonator delete with the Glasspacks but the car was loud (good), mean (good), and had tons of drone (BAD). Adding the Dynomax mufflers in the previous videos quieted it down a lot! The original videos can be found below.

I've been to a couple muffler shops so far to get a quote on the mid-muffler delete. One quoted $250-$300 (CarX) and the other $180-$200 (Meineke). The Meineke guy was pretty familiar and said its a lot like the Challenger and they do a lot of them. The CarX guy pulled it in and put it up on the lift to check it out. Not sure where you guys are getting these $100 prices from! I have a couple mom and pop shops I'm going to check out.

Mine was done at a local shop. I'd stay away from the chain shops.

2014 SRT Glass pack straight exhaust

I found a mom and pop shop that would do it for $100. I actually paid $120 for them to do it with stainless pipe instead of aluminized steel. They even use stainless welding wire. They did it in an hour over my lunch break today. Sounds soooo much better. How it SHOULD have sounded from the factory. I noticed that the build sheet on my car (14 Blacktop) has one of the items listed as "performance exhaust". Not sure what that means.

18" manga flow single in single out to the T and going to the dual out.reso delete too.
Car woke up and sounds nice
Just a little drone on down shift but I don't even notice it

Is there no one that has a Hemi that has installed the Solo Performance exhaust and can post a sound clip. There is one sound clip but it is with a V6. You can not compare the sound of a V6 to the sound of a V8, they are two different animals. As the owner of a performance shop once told me when I was trying to get my V6 Mustang at the time to sound like a GT. He said you will never be able to do it due to the number of cylinders firing. He said the V8 with 4 cylinders per bank will make a nice low growl and not sound like a ricer at WOT. He said the V6 will maybe rumble a bit at idle but due to the 3 cylinders ( odd number) per head it will sound like a ricer at WOT. With the R/Ts that have the MDS, we sort of run into the same problem that causes the dreaded drone when the car goes to 4 cylinder mode. Mopar claims to have a patented performance exhaust that eliminates the drone from the MDS. Solo Performance claims to eliminate the drone with their J design. Finally, Dynomax claimed to have no drone with their exhaust, but there is a small amount of drone that you get at certain speeds when the MDS is active. Since the Solo Performance exhaust costs a little over eight hundred dollars for the cat back exhaust and another just over seven hundred for the High Flow Cat set up, one would prefer to hear how it sounds before plunking down between eight hundred and fifteen hundred dollars.

I haven't seen anyone with this setup and if there is, well how do you like it? Would you do anything differently? I love this setup since its low without the riceyness the 3.6's can put out. If this helped anyone let me know i always love to hear some feedback!
