He is talking about the lifters. No need to remove them, spin the camshaft around a couple of times and the lifters will seat themselves out of the way in the MDS position. When pulling the camshaft out, try not to bump the roller lifters or they may drop down. When pulling the camshaft just rotate it a bit as it comes out.
