I just did my first oil change and put a new filter and 7 Qts in and it reads about 3/4 of a quart overfull!

I would definalty put in 6 and then add to get to the full mark. Seems like these have alot of variance in what stays in the engine when you drain it, depending on how you have the car raised up etc.

how are you raising your car up? i pull mine up on ramps and all the oil is drained out, which is important when changing your oil.
