I received the '68-'70 grille from Danko Reproductions and had considered vinyl wrapping it in the body color, Blue Streak Pearl (PCL), but chickened out. The lack of ever doing a vinyl wrap where not 1, but 4 radius', I want it to look good, not like amateur hour.
The fiberglass grille surround is gel coated in semi-gloss black, here is what I propose to do, correct me if I'm wrong.
1.) wet sand with 400 grit (?) until gloss is gone
2.) clean with soap and water/dry
3.) apply Automotive Touchup primer, no sand, 2nd coat, light wet sand
4.) after waiting several hours, apply Automotive Touchup PCL basecoat, then 2nd coat
5.) after waiting several hours, apply Automotive Touchup clearcoat, 2nd coat.

I will appreciate any and all input!!
