Have a 09 2.7. On the way home from work engine light came on then started to overheat. Like I've never seen a car do before. Pulled into gas station and checked it out, there is a gaping hole in the connecting T for the heater core hoses. WTF? Can some one please tell me how that happened.

It's eleven years old. Fatigue, heating and cooling cycles, the plastic got brittle and cracked. If that's all that's wrong, you can get the complete hose assembly on that big website named after a river in South America for around $35.

Make absolutely sure you refill with the correct HOAT coolant.
