I was recently browsing around seeing if there was a way to fix the 22c issue when you upgrade from the 4.3 inch radio to the 8.4 inch radio. After awhile I discovered that if you replace the HVAC module that is behind the glovebox, this should fix it, and after getting the part, it worked. My AUTO button now works along with 22c not displaying anymore. The part number I used was 55111919AM. I got it off eBay for around $35 here:

Awesome,you've solved it!....is it difficult to get to and switch out the module?
it is not too difficult, you just need to remove the glove box and then it will be right behind there. you take out 5 screws, and then there it is. i should have taken some pictures of the process. overall, it is pretty easy.

Sorry to say this did not work for me. I replaced it and everything is the same. I'm going to keep it in there to see if anything changes though. I think there are sensors around the cabin have to be installed. :(
