Hello I recently purchased a Injen intake for my 6.4 and I’m wondering if anyone else got one on their 392. I’m worried that the gains won’t be the same as other intakes or am I over my head? Another worry would be if it’ll get heat soaked fast. It’s in a position where they try to avoid it and it comes with a heat shield. Let me know what you guys think! Thank you
Yeah pretty much, really the best setup would be the Hellcat type setup that draws air from an outlet in the grill. That requires a fair amount of parts and work I believe. @MadMaxx.
OP, since you already have the needed '19 dual snorkel grill, honestly as dodgeguy put it you will see and feel the best results doing the Hellcat lower airbox swap and either keeping ur factory top box or switching to the SRT top as well. In my many years of racing and building race oriented vehicles, most (about 98%) of all aftermarket CAI's will be harmful and less beneficial to our cars and will result in higher ambient temps as well as more heat soak through the TB and intake...only the true closed-box designs that draw cooler air from outside the engine bay are any effective as well as providing actual performance gains, but ask anyone with the newer Mopar's and they'll tell you all day that Mopar actually very meticulously and well thought out the designs of our intakes and not to mention if it's good enough design to put on the Hellcat line as well as the Demon, then don't you think it'll be just as beneficial on your Scat?
Go here for the swap as they are very reputable and well known, and I've personally purchased many things from them as well as my '19 conversion and Hellcat lower air box and filter! Try and get a refund from that Injen intake unless you have a buddy that has a supped up Honda that can use it...but in the end, it's your decision as to which route to go, but you'll be thanking me later for going with the Mopar route...just my broke ass half a .01!

Seriously, that upgrade is only $115? I always expected it to be in the $400 range like my Mopar CAI was a few years ago. Wow. First thing I'll invest in when I buy a '15+ ride.

Right! I thought it would've been too, till I checked into it and contacted Steve White and they were on point with it! Definitely still have been noticing my ambient temps and intake temps are consistently lower than before without it! Also pulls harder especially in the upper RPM's and gears!
That's for the end user's interpretations, basically it's like this, with an open setup (filter is exposed) it'll have a higher probability of first drawing the heated air from the engine and bay before drawing in the cooler air from outside, which defeats the purpose of an air intake as the motor wants cooler air not warm air....but with a closed boxed setup, the filter is isolated from the sides, top, and most of bottom, with the exception of the inlets to draw in the cooler air via underneath the car, fender, or from the grill (Hellcat setup) or a combination of. As long as the source for pulling in the air to the TB-the intake is closed off and PRIMARILY receiving it's air through convection, then your motor will perform optimally and efficiently. Hence what I said above, the Hellcat line and the Demon have this setup as it's more of a 'Ram-Air' setup and effectively gains more airflow through the intake, which translate to power putting down to the wheels....if that makes sense?
At idle I have noticed intake temps at idle do cool down. But extended idling in Hot ambient they heat up quicker. With the Hellcat tube installed on Charger.
