I took my Charger in for a recall today, which was done. I asked about the phone warning that comes up on start up. They did a diagnosis, they told me the radio should be replaced which MAY Correct the problem. The cost would be $1100.00. Has anyone else run into this problem? It seems to me that it is a software issue.

Honestly, it may just be another crappy 8.4 radio with a defective screen.
Take a good look at the screen (on and off), if you can see any bubbles or a line in the screen, it's delaminating and that causes lots of issues.

The dealer said I should replace the radio. Is this a common issue? The cost would be $1100.00.

Fortunately it's very common them getting you to try to pay for it is also. My experience though is very few people have actually paid for this in or out of warranty because this is a widespread known issue best of luck.
