I just got a set of Continental ExremeContact DWS 06 in the above mentioned size on stock rims. They are a plus 0 size for anyone that didn't know and going to this size opens up options and lowers the cost of tires.

So for anyone curious of how these fit, here you go:

Good pics...Wondering if 255's would give more protection from curb rash? Wifey is not so good at parking...
Looks like a tight fit.. but they fit.
They fit but I'm being plagued by constant tire pressure loss and poor balancing. The tires grip way better than the factory tire though. They are also heavier which you'll notice right away in the way the steering wheel feels.
Any ideas about rim protection using wider tires? 235 's are almost even with the rim. I am going to powder coat the rims and would like them to be safer from Wifey when she parks...
I just had a set of 255/50R19 DWS 06 tires put on my AWD this past Tuesday, and I also noticed a balance issue with them. I'm going back to the dealer this week to get them to try to rebalance them. They grip great, but the vibration at times is ridiculous. As far as the weight of them goes, according to the spec sheets it looks like these are only 1lb heavier than the stock michelins that were on mine.
Dealer rebalanced the tires on their roadforce machine for me today (no charge) and now all the vibration is gone, so I'm happy.

I just got the 255/50-19 Continental Extreme Contact DWS-06 on my 2014 Dodge Charger SXT Plus AWD Sport with the factory 300HP rating, and I have zero issues. Handling is much better, with no loss in ride quality, and a more muscular look. The tires are actually 1 pound less than the stock Hankooks, which is a nice bonus. In this pic, if you're observant enough, you can see that they were originally mounted inside out, which was, of course, corrected.

Hi Keith, what was it corrected to?

Also, first time posting here.

Welcome, Ashish! I just meant that the mechanic mounted my new tires inside-out accidentally, and I took my car back to him, and he corrected the problem.

What do you drive, Ashish?

Thanks Keith. I drive a 2012 Charger AWD SXT plus. I decided to go with 255/50R19 DWS 06. I have my fingers crossed that this will go okay. This will be my first time "modding" my car.
I have my fingers crossed for you Ashish. Let us know how it goes!

Have you guys noticed a decrease in mpg with these tires? I'm not sure if it's them or if everyone just switched to winter gas around the time I got them installed. I was getting 25-26mpg on the highway, but am only getting about 20mpg now.

Also what pressures are you guys running them at? The dealer initially had them at 37psi, but I lowered them to 35 for a while, and then to 32 after I had them balanced the second time.
Thanks Keith! So far it is going good. It is a tight fit but handling has been super good. It turns smoothly and has very low resistance when handling tight turns at very slow speeds/parking.

The tires are rated for 50psi. Mine are running at 40psi. Maybe, lowering it would increase grip and reduce mileage

The tires rated pressure is fairly irrelevant here. The factory michelins that came on my car had a far higher rated pressure than the 30 psi that the car calls for. I'm not sure how much the different size of the new tires affects what is the optimal pressure.

Jolly good show, chap! :) Yes, I noticed the mysterious drop in MPG also, but it turned cold here quick as well. When my car was in the shop, I had them filled to 38psi of free Nitrogen, (I won't pay for it), and now they're 35-36psi which is about where I like them. Here is a hilarious take on the Nitrogen 'scam' as he calls it:
He has some other hilarious videos as well. This is my favorite:

Greetings and Happy New year! It has been a while since I last contacted you as my Charger R/T AWD expert, lol.
The last time was 3 years ago when my lease was up and wasnt sure to return it or buy it. I ended up buying another car that i love and drive mostly but also bought the Charger since they stopped making the V8 AWD model except for PD but that doesnt have the options i want like my R/T Max has.

so now its time for my first set of new tires at 48,000 miles.
I would really like to upgrade to the 255/50 19 size with conti dws 06 but am concerned with the tight fit though enough folks say it fits but your balancing and pressure loss issues concern me.

Did you ever get this worked out? was there a solution like hunter roadforce balancing?

what would you advise?

what size do you run now?

I am considering going a little smaller with 245/50 19 . tire circumference is 28.7" vs 29.0" so slight speedo correction but not a big deal.

Thanks!

Did you have any long term issues with 255/50/19’s on your AWD?
I just put these tires on my 2014 Charger RT AWD and I get a bad sway when accelerating both from a stop and while driving. I had an alignment done. Does anyone else have this rear end sway problem?
I've got an appointment to get Nokian Haakapalita Studded 255/50/19's put on my 2018 Charger GT AWD + super track pack (I live in Alaska). I'm not confident theres enough room for snow AND the tires in the wheel wells, so I will let ya'll know. Anybody else using anything besides the DWS tires in 255/50/19?
