What is everyone doing to get a set of ramps to work?

I've got a set of ramps that are supposed to be "low profile" that I have had for years. They don't fit under the Charger's bumper.

The bumper hits about half to three-quarters of an inch away from the wheel, so I won't be able to get it up on the ramps without scraping. I looked at couple of sets of ramps today, and they all seem to be about the same rake as the ones that I have.

Tomorrow morning, I'm gonna try to drive up on a couple of pieces of 2X4 to give me a little more elevation, see if that will allow me to get up on the ramps.

Yeah, I was going to say buy you a 2x6 or 2x8 to lay in front of the ramps & see if that gives you enough height to not hit.

Hey exco. Summit racing has some really expensive ones that will work. They are called race ramps +$200.....

I used some scrap 2x10s to put in front of my Rhino ramps.

Some make their own. I might do that or just go ahead and get the Ranger QuickJacks I have been eyeing for 2 years now

OK, it sounds like everyone is doing what I had already thought of.

I'm not sure I'm willing to spend big money on a set of ramps, at least not this weekend LOL. I was hoping the change the oil today, but gonna try again in the morning. Hopefully the 2X4s will give me just enough extra height to get the job done.

I'll update how things came out, both good or bad.

I need to figure it out before 5000 miles too lol.

I was thinking to make a proper 2 foot lead in ramp to put in front of my Rhinos. But if I have to make something I might as well make a pair of ramps....

Yeah i just built my own out of 2- 4x6x10's and 1 2x10x12's. About 60 bucks, and a hour to build. Works great! I couldn't see spending 200+ right now for the ramps at this moment.

That sounds great, but I'm not allowed to use a hammer and nail. I do admit that things tend to get a little crazy when I try to nail things together LOL, could be why when I'm forced to do something like that I tend to use screws.

I may go that route if my 2X4 plan doesn't work.

I have low profile ramps and it still hits a little so I use 2 2x6 boards at the end of the ramp to get up. It works, simple as that.

Just out of curiosity. What brand of ramps are you guys using? Also, where did you buy them?

I have the Blitz Rhino Ramps which appear to no longer be available. The design and/or company name has changed.
I see similar product come up under Hopkins and Flotool Rhino Ramps.

My ramps worked on my 16R/T, but do not work on my Scat Pack due to the lower bumper. I have to stack some wood as mentioned above in front of the ramp to get the bumper to clear the ramp

*forgot - you can get these at Wal-Mart, AutoZone, any car parts store really

The ramps that I have, I've had for years. I think that I picked 'em up at Pep Boys or somewhere similar. I think when I bought them about 10-15 yrs ago they were about $30.

I looked at a couple of different sets that were available at Wally World, Advance Auto Parts, and Pep Boys, they all seemed to have essentially the same ramps for $40-$60. I think the difference in price was the width of the ramps. I also think they were all rated for around 12K.

After many years of using wood, bricks, blocks, steel ramps etc. I spent the money last year on the 2 piece 67 inch RACE RAMP combo 10 x 12 with slime line ramp, they do not slide out when trying to drive up onto them, they are very light about 8 lbs each pc. easily loaded in car trunk, auto fluids do not hurt them or soak in, stand up nicely in corner of garage take up little storage space, support 6000 LBS. But they are pricey. I am not disappointed with them at all.
