Swapped rear CV, and now car won't drive.

My car was driving before I swapped the rear driver CV. Unfortunately we had to keep it's ass end up in the air for a week until the shop was able to press the old cv/hub apart.

Took it down after rebuilding the whole wheel well, and now it doesn't move. It shifts out of park into reverse, neutral, drive, but refuses to go back into drive like the transmission is still spinning even though we're going nowhere.

Spinning the rear wheel while in the air, both wheels move with no grinding of any sort.

The driveshaft is still attached and not spinning.

We tried the pulling the battery trick. Kept it detached for an hour and nothing.

I can hear it shift. But no mobility. We're suspecting it's something in the transfer case that magically took a shit while in the air.

Thoughts? Otherwise I need to get it towed to the dealership.

There is a coupling gear between the transfer case and the transmission. They are known to shear the splines out of the inside if them. Especially if driven hard or something breaks and causes a severe impact to the drivetrain.
Easily fixed but the gear is high dollar. ~$500+ not installed. Not sure if they are still available but I can check.
Saw where disconnecting the battery and turning the headlights on and key on for 5 minutes sometimes fixes it. Worth shot.

Thanks for the feedback, but we found the issue, and that is there are like 7+ rear CV options for my car. I had a dealer sourcing CVs from all over the state trying to find the correct fit. We finally got the correct CV in place and she drives like a dream again.

I was going to mention that but you said the driveshaft wasnt turning.
I had that happen on a RWD version. Had to replace axle for some reason. Put it back together and drove a block to the next stop sign. Went to take off and nothing. Had to tow it back home, pull the axle and get another one.
SXT's with 4 speed trans takes one axle while ones with a 5 speed take a larger one. I had a 4 speed axle in a 5 speed car. They'll fit, justbthe splines wont engage with the hub to drive the car.
