The tail lights are LED. The outer rear lamps include multiple LED units for the park (or tail) lamps, the brake (or stop) lamps and the turn signal lamps. Do the stop lights and turn signal work when the tail light (parking light) does not work ... or are they all out together?

The Body Control Module (BCM) receives the input from the headlamp switch requesting park lamp illumination. The BCM provides a voltage output through the left rear park lamp control circuit. The control circuit connects to the Park Lamps. A ground path for the lamps is present through the harness to the body sheet metal. So you can check for a loose ground.

If you have a OBD2/CAN scanner that reads Bxxxx codes (Body codes) you can see if any BCM codes have been logged; for example:
B16D7 - Left Tail Lamp Control, Circuit Short to Ground

Brake lights and turn signals both work when the lights are off, just the running lights. Will have to either take it in or find a scanner then that can read codes
