I keep my traction control turned off, otherwise coasting feels like it has drag from the brakes. My R/T doesnt seem to have the smooth coasting ability of my other dodges.

 

I think these trannys adapt to how you drive. Theres a way to reset it, might have to see if the dealer can tell the computer to stay at its default setting.

That drag is exactly what I've been feeling...didn't know how to describe it until you said it.

However since I have an AWD there is no way that I've found to disable ESC :-(

 

Supposedly, your car's brain learns your driving habits and adjusts shifting accordingly every few hundred miles. So that's the adaptive learning you're feeling when the car is shifting. If you want it to shift like your pants are on fire, reset the PCM and you'll notice a difference. To reset the learning curve do the following:

Push button to run but don't start the car
Depress the gas pedal slowly all the way down
Release the pedal slowly all the way back up
Push button all the way to off
Start the car and take it for a spin, you'll notice a difference for sure

Another way to do it is to disconnect battery for 20-30 minutes.

As for the coasting issue; that's just the way these HEMIs are. Insane engine braking that I suspect is due to all that back pressure. I love it though, when coasting in first gear from 2K rpm to idle, the car burbles and pops
