Alternator problem?

Hi there! I'm new to these forums but let's cut to the chase. I currently have a problem on my 2014 Dodge Charger RT. My uconnect and gauges will randomly turn off and my gauges will say 0 when I'm driving (very scary sometimes) but both the uconnect and the gauges will just restart theirselves like nothing happened and it'll be fine again. At least until it happens again. The car drives just fine when it does this though and the headlights stay on although today I did notice that the headlights flickered a little bit a couple times when it happened. This has been happening for about 4-5 days now and it's really starting to bug me. It occurrs just about everyday and these last two days have been worse than ever. It happened about 10 times today! I only have 7200 miles on it and it started happening at 7,000 miles. I'm pretty sure it's an alternator problem and I have heard that the v6 chargers have had this problem only, but apparently so does mine. Again I have a 5.7 hemi. But it's also a lease and I have a muffler delete, and a resonator delete, replaced with an aftermarket muffler and pipe and a k&n cold air intake in it therefore I'm kinda afraid to take it to Chrysler because what if it voids my warranty? I was thinking about just reverting it back to stock and taking it but I honestly don't know what to do. So my question is, is this problem happening to any of you or has happened before? Any input would be helpful.

Edit:I also forgot to mention that my windshield wipers sometimes turn on randomly when the lights go off. This problem is really frustrating and I really hope it doesn't get worse.

The cold air intake and exhaust will not void the warranty. Some dealers are bad and will try to say they do. They would have to prove that those aftermarket items caused the alternator to short out.

I just had my alternator go on me yesterday. Had it towed to closest dealer and they replaced it no problem. I have a cold air intake and custom exhaust on a 2014.

I just called three different dealerships one of them said that it'll completely void the warranty which is full of crap and I called another one and he told me that if the aftermarket parts doesn't effect it then I'll be fine but I also got rear ended pretty badly like 3 months ago and he said that could be the problem so yeah I really don't know what to do :/

Take to Dealer ASAP..
and no way the warranty is voided.. If they say it is,, have them call Dodge directly with you there.. ;)
Yeah haha idk I highly doubt my aftermarket work had anything to do with this because I've had them for 4+ months now and this problem just now started occurring. I also had him look up if my veichle had any recalls and apparently there was none :4-dontknow: so yeah I may just take it and hope for the best and at least remove my intake because that only takes 5 minutes to do and it'll limit the stuff they can say lol

Edit:I also saw somewhere online that some guy had a dart and his uconnect kept freezing and restarting itself and he updated it and apparently according to him it fixed. I know this isn't the same problem as mine and it could very well be my alternator but I did search up if I had updates and I have two of them and I was thinking of giving them a shot and seeing if it'll fix my problem.

The CAI you put on the car will not void anything and as far as the exhaust goes you can change anything up to the cat. converters and it will not void the warenty. Now if you took out the cat. converters then that could void your warenty. I called and asked one time and they told me anything after the cat. converters is fair game. But that shouldn't be causing the electrical problems your describing, time to go see the dealer.

Take the car to the dealer and let them diagnose it under warranty. Don't be surprised if it turns out not to be the alternator. The instrument cluster is an ElectroMechanical Instrument Cluster (EMIC). The EMIC has a microprocessor that receives electronic messages from other electronic modules over the Controller Area Network (CAN) data bus. The EMIC also controls many of the cars electronic/electrical devices ... including electronic wiper and/or washer request messages to the Front Control Module (FCM) located on the Integrated Power Module (IPM).

So strange behavior by your instrument cluster and wipers is not out the realm of possibilities if the EMIC is acting up. Best to have the dealership Service Dept do their magic to diagnose/isolate the source of the problem. Plus they will have the software updates and hardware parts to fix it.

Thanks for that information. I didn't really know what the problem was so I just told the dealer that it's an alternator problem (before I read this post) I have an appointment Thursday morning :) I tried taking video footage of it happening and the one time I got it to happen my phone froze so I'm gonna keep trying to get some video of it just incase they do say nothing is wrong with it because sometimes it doesn't even occur at all it's completely random. So my question is how did this happen? I've only had this car for about 8 months now and there's barely any miles on it.
