I would be very surprised if the 2015 Hellcat Charger weighed less than its Challenger twin.

I doubt very highly they'll make a Super Bee Hellcat. Just like they won't make an AWD Charger Hellcat (but if they did, I'd trade in the car I just bought in a heartbeat...) or a 6-speed Charger Hellcat.

Regardless, a 700hp grocery-getter is something to raise an eyebrow about. I'll keep that eyebrow open in case it's possible to fit a 2011-2014 front clip on the car (Everything I see about the '15 front end is, well, hideous).

They usually change the front end with the SRT....so I am hopeful they will make it somewhat tolerable. I still hope they will offer a scat pack 392 for those of us who can't drop $60K+

I believe their weight figures for the current SuperBee are off. I was always under the impression that they shed around 100 lbs by not having all the extra goodies. It does not come with Forged wheels either. I have seen that curb weight of less than 4000 lbs but only one place. Most of the test data from the mags come in at 100 lbs less.

If you look at the dragtimes and 0-60 times a 100 lb reduction seems about right. 100 lbs reduction = 10 hp = 0.1 seconds (Standard rule of thumb)

Very interesting cant wait to see how it turns out but in th end I dont think they will allow the Hellcat Charger to be able to beat the Hellcat Challenger. They will find some way to make sure that the Challenger stays on top.

I wonder if that extra weight might help it some? That's a lot of power going to the tires, and maybe the extra weight helps it stick the road a little better? I'm not familiar with that kind of power, so maybe the mechanics start to change a little bit.

I remember reading an article about that viper-engine-powered motorcycle, and the horsepower/weight/rubber ratios were so bad that they didn't know if it could beat an actual viper in a 1/4 mile.

Perhaps the Challenger is a bit light for that power? I'd bet better tires would even the score.

During the Hellcat Charger reveal they mentioned the added weight helped to launch it off the line, however she is still one heavy beast. Only...and don't hold me to this...roughly 160lbs more than the Challenger. The added length of the body with the aerodynamics at play allow the Charger to have a higher top speed of 204mph (vs Chally 199). It is also slightly quicker in the quarter mile at 11s flat (vs Chally 11.2s), but it is a touch slower in the 0-60 aspect at 3.7s (vs Chally 3.5s).

Really, someone mentioned it before here but I forget who, the Challenger is a bit heavy for a coupe but it does have impressive power and the retro look is simply stunning! The Charger is slightly heavier but it plays against the European cars like BMW and the lot. Both vehicles are well priced for their markets as well, although in my opinion the Charger is more enticing to those shopping for 4 door super beast saloons vs people wanting a 2 door monster. The new Chevy stingray is also a pretty sweet ride for that category! :)

In IMO the challenger is heavy but the charger isn't really although its heavier then the challenger. If you look at its competitors, cars like the BMW M5, Porsche turbo, Audi RS7, they all weigh at least 4400 pounds so the charger is right there with its competition and has way more horsepower and torque. The challenger on the other hand although is not directly in competition with the mustang and camaro is way heavier then both. I know the challenger is not a sports car and more of a GT car but still. Its heavy.
