So now that I've got the intake and exhaust done, I've been contemplating resetting the ECM. So here's a few questions?

Is it necessary?

If you've done it, was it worth it? What results did you see?

Can it be done via pulling fuses instead of disconnecting the negative battery cable? If so which fuses?

Thanks!

It's worth it. I found good results. There's another way to do it:

FOB with you in the car, don't touch the brake pedal but press the ignition switch twice (to run) but don't start the car. Press the gas pedal ALL the way down slowly and all the way back up slowly (process of all the way down and back up should take about 10 seconds). Press the ignition switch once to put it back to off and viola. Start the car normally. That should do it. And just an FYI, it's the same procedure to reset the oil life monitor, except for that you'll have to press the pedal 3 times instead of just once.

Whoa!! How did you ever find that out Hoca? That's like left, left, right, right, up, down, A, B, square!!
Whoa, a Contra reference was just used...lol

Will def have to try this after I install my CAI and CC...I plan putting some exhuast on too but not sure how long it will be (Depending on the price) should I wait to do it all at once of just reset it after each thing?

I know right, I remember printing off mortal kombat finishing moves and practicing forever on them back in the day! Might need to break them back out and try a few on the ol' charger!

Next time the wife dozes off in the car I'm just going to yell FINISH HIM!! And start pounding random codes into the radio. Should be good for at least 10 seconds of laughter before she pepper sprays me.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't think there'd be an issue doing it after each mod. Anyone got thoughts?

I don't know how true this is, but the service manager at Monroeville Dodge said the reset may have a limit of 500 uses until it needs reprogrammed totally. I'm not one to believe him, because he BS'd me on some many other things. He seemed to be genuine about it though. I can't see even coming close to that, in all fairness. I probably have done the reset more than 20 times in the last 12 months for this reason or that reason. It does plenty to give me that brand new bought feeling again and again. But my wife now drives her to work, and she has noticed it enough to bring it up to me. She's like, " why does the car feel so punchy in the morning before I go to work"? I told her the car is waiting in anticipation for me to drive her early and get her going.<LOL> Only to wake up in the morning and have a red head slip under the covers with her. I don't know about you, but now I'm reset to! LMAO.
