Insane Impossible Interior Issue

2010 sxt here. I attempted to upgrade my interior lights to LED. Swapped the first bulb (driver side MAP) and it wouldn't come on. If I opened the door it would, if I turned the dimmer up it would, but not if I pushed the button.

Here's where it gets weird: if I turned on the other MAP light, then the LED would come on! As long as the halogen bulb was on then I could turn the LED light on and off with the button. Thinking maybe they both needed swapped over I did the other one and it ended up the same. Thinking maybe the rear interior needed switched too I tried those.

Suddenly I'm in my back seat turning all the lights on in the car by cycling the last halogen on and off haha. I ended up swapping them all out to find that I have no interior lights unless I open my doors or use the dimmer switch.

Any ideas? No one seems to have had this issue before. Which I find odd.

I wondered about that. The bulbs I used in my rear seat are the same as the ones I used on my front marker lights and I know they work as I've had them installed for awhile. But they still won't light up.

I opened the trunk as that light is supposed to be on the same circuit and sure enough with the trunk open the lights work normally.

Remove the map light lens and verify the small push-in switch is working. There's a nib on the inside of the lens that makes contact with the switch. Also try reversing the bulb, maybe it's polarity specific?
