I was pricing hardware for a manifold swap and came across this thread on the durango forums; a 5.7 durango owner did his swap using a SRV controller from Z Automotive that eliminated the need for the window switch. Has anyone else seen this? Or know if it would work for LX owners?

Following up on this question that I had posed, in case anyone else can benefit from it. I'd been talking to a local shop and they felt confident that the SRV Controller from Z-Automotive would work on the Charger. So I pulled the trigger and bought a 392 manifold and the SRV Controller....

I can confirm that this WILL work and eliminated the need for the MSD Window Switch

This made a "cleaner" final product by eliminating the need to mount additional hardware inside of the bay. There was no tuning or anything needed. Plug and Play and the manifold will operate as intended.

I use a window switch and all you can see of my install is one red wire. The cleanliness of the install is up to the installer honestly.

Yeah overall it looks nicer, but I don’t know personally that it’s any easier per se, maybe because it’s less custom wiring, but still a lot of wiring work either way. I don’t have experience with the original tried and true MSD window switch method.
The price point is also high so I doubt it saves money, maybe breaks even. I think it eliminates some guess work in the wiring and I’ve heard stories of the window switch failing so maybe it eliminates some of that uncertainty as well.

When I did mine 9 years ago I assembled all the wiring on the kitchen table and then took that mess out to the engine bay. Drilled holes for the circuit bos and msd, tried to use the OEM plastic tubing to hide the wires but it still looked a mess. I have seen some pretty clean installs since then.
