Ok so i searched the forums and didn't find any info about ram air hoods. I'm looking to get a new hood for my torRed r/t the looks similar if not exactly like the srt hood. I was looking at fully functional ram air hoods. Anybody have any experience with these or should I just go with the OEM hood and get a CAI? they're supposed to be better than regular CAI's because more cold air gets into the engine. Thank you

I got a Trufiber. It looks nice, but the fit & finish leaves some to be desired. It looks "Wavy" in the right (wrong?) light and has some imperfections my shop was afraid to sand out because it would have taken the gel coating off the hood, down to the fiberglass. I would strongly suggest a PPI with a black hood not white - white hides imperfections you can't see as easily.

Also, cleaning snow and changing wipers are both a PITA because I cannot lift the wipers.

I got mine used from a Charger owner and had it repainted, so I cant comment on initial quality/shipping, but I love it. It's from a vendor that isn't a supporting vendor, and so I wont link it here but I will PM you the website if you're interested. It is able to be fully functional, I just don't have the insert that goes underneath the hood to make it so. But then again, I only got it for the looks:

Only issue I had was not having a set of extended windshield wiper fluid hoses, but I spoke to the guys at moparsupercenter when I stopped by to pick up my grill and he hooked me up with some extra tubing and connectors.

I have just recently had the RKSport ram air hood installed...fits 99.5% and is fully functional with the K&N CAI as well
Have not had any issues, and they are way cheaper that buying an OEM SRT hood.
I am looking at the same hood coming pre-painted brilliant black. what is the .5% that didn't fit? would you recommend it? What issues did you have and what success did you have? How long was the install?

I have a trufiber, and I had a little bit of a fit issue on the passenger side, (as you can see the glare in the pic). I had to sand down the structural piece there to make it fit.

how do these hoods handel water in a rain storm? just asking?
It's going to suck in a few drops of water, but nothing that's going to clog your intake. I'll bet your CAI still works even if you're dousing it with a garden hose....well, maybe that's a bit extreme. :)

it does. i tried spraying a garden hose directly into my scoop to prove to a naysayer that rain would never be an issue. first of all, more than half of it is blocked by the honeycomb. secondly, most of what does get through sticks to the inside of the ducting. lastly, even if a few drops do make it all the way to the CAI, they still have to make it through the filter, a foot of tubing, and the throttle body without being vaporized. it's just not going to happen.
